Notes & Reviews:

The French composer and organist Marcel Dupre was strongly influenced by the music of the late 19th century. His own compositions were rhythmically robust and characterized by long sweeping melodies. Dupre was also deeply interested in the music of Bach, composing a series of Chorales in which he created the modern counterparts of the chorale harmonizations by the great 18th century composer.
