Notes & Reviews:

How appropriate it was for Rachmaninov to live out his last years in Beverly Hills, California. The famous composer/pianist whose early works anticipated what would be called the "Hollywood" sound in the golden years of the 1930's and 1940's. Those lush harmonies and yearning, from-the-heart melodies could be heard as early as 1907 in Rachmaninov's marvelous 'Symphony No. 2,' one of the major successes during what would prove to be his breakthrough year as a composer in his homeland.
