Notes & Reviews:

This CD presents two original compositions and one arrangement for trombone and organ as well as a solo organ work by Hugo Distler, one of Germany's most important liturgical composers of the 20th century. The arrangement of the classic Rachmaninov piece is by the organist herself, and trombonist Swanson does double-duty by presenting his own 'Variations,' a work which bears more than a passing resemblance to the organ works of Hindemith and William Mathias. 'Domine, Dona Nobis Pacem' is a welcome work by a Hungarian composer who shows the influence of Zoltan Kodaly.
