Notes & Reviews:

Michael Praetorius was one of the most versatile and prolific German composers of the early 17th century. Praetorius' music combines drama and virtuosity with the simple and accessible traditions of the Lutheran hymns. This recording recreates a Vespers (evening) service for Christmas as it might have sounded in a large north German church in the early 17th century.
