Notes & Reviews:

A unique program of great Romantic piano masterpieces, including Igor Roma's own arrangement of the Alkan work based on 'Aesop's Fables.' Roma, a winner of many international piano competitions, started his successful career in 1996 when he won the first prize at the International Competition Franz Liszt in Utrecht, where his performance convinced the jury not to award the second prize, so the other two finalists divided the third prize. His repertoire is very wide; he plays both Bach and Messiaen, and includes less-known pieces by Szymanowski, Kurtag, and Falla.
