Il Dolcimelo is an early music ensemble which has made its name in the international music scene since its formation in 1994 by Katja Beisch and Doris Runge. This CD features the work of 17th-century English composers who were interested in novelties hailing from the Continent at the time. From this music, there arose a fully self-sufficient mix made of English traditions and the new Italian style.
