Notes & Reviews:

"The performers play on instruments of the early 19th Century. Kaiser's flute is wood, and Prunnbauer plays a guitar made by Louis Panormo from 1828, strung with gut strings from the sound of it. I was pleasantly surprised by this record. Matiegka has enjoyable melodic gifts and is quite inventive. The Notturno ends with an interesting pair of movements, 'Zingara' (Gypsy) and Serenade, 'Mädchen, a schlummer noch nicht?' (Maiden, are you still asleep?) The Serenade's Scherzo is delightful I did find this quite enjoyable, and I will certainly return to it. The performers are committed and convincing, playing with sensitivity and energy; and the sound is excellent." -ARG
