Notes & Reviews:

Weinberg was one of the most prolific and inventive creative musical figures of the 20th century. The reason for the neglect of his music is largely political, for Weinberg, as a bourgeois Jew, suffered under both Nazism and Soviet Communism. It is only since the barriers between the Soviet Union and the West were lowered that scholars worldwide have come to realize the importance of Weinberg's legacy.

BBC Music Magazine
... there's no doubting the composer's masterly handling of the orchestra and his ability to develop an epic symphonic argument that at the same time maintains a sense of cogency. ... Gabriel Chmura and the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra deliver powerful compelling, and the engineering matches Chandos's usual high standards.
