Album Summary
Performers
Frank Almond (Violin)
William Wolfram (Piano)
Notes & Reviews:
"Almond and Wolfram approach Janacek by way of the grandiose late-Romantic idiom of Strauss and Respighi. They perform all three works with big tone and a broad, bold style, enhanced by an ample, resonant recording that does full justice to the piano sonorities and to Almond's strongly projected tone. It's sensitive playing, too, catching perfectly the dreamy, impressionistic mood at the start of the Respighi's Andante and relishing the delicate, filigree passages near the end of the Strauss's second movement." -Gramophone
