Notes & Reviews:

John Foulds (1880-1939) is a name not widely familiar today, but he was one of the most fascinating British composers, master of such a wide range of styles that he is impossible to characterize. Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) is by contrast one of the best-known names in English music, but his piano concerto is a relative rarity. "To my mind there are four unequivocal masterpieces for piano and orchestra in English twentiethcentury music: Bax's Winter Legends Bridge's Phantasm and the two works presented here an altogether outstanding reissue." - Gramophone
