Notes & Reviews:
"Even though these players use period instruments tuned almost a full half-note below modern pitch, their sound is bright as sunlight. Perhaps it's that their timbre is warm, their tuning with one another is perfect, and they play with such flawless ensemble you'd swear it were Shiva doing it all with eight hands... Slow movements are not just beautiful- they have gorgeous fragility. For example, in the D-major Quartet, Lisa Beznosiuk shapes the minor key melody in II so lovingly with just a hint of vibrato that it would make even a stone want to weep, especially when accompanied by pizzicato strings that are this mellow and comforting. And their performance of III is a classic illustration to modern and period instruments players of "how to get the lead out"... Music-making simply doesn't come any better (or more joyful) than this." -ARG
