Notes & Reviews:

The Hilliard LIVE Series was originally produced by the BBC for lobby sale at Hilliard Ensemble concert events, and was not available commercially. This album was recorded live in concert in August 1996 at the chapel of Trinity College, Cambridge. Perotin (fl. ca. 1200) was a European composer, believed to be French, who lived around the end of the twelfth and beginning of the thirteenth centuries. He was the most famous member of the Notre Dame school of polyphony. Perotin was one of very few composers of his day whose name has been preserved, and can be reliably attached to individual compositions.
