Notes & Reviews:

On December 24, 2006, great contemporary composer Mauricio Kagel celebrated his seventy-fifth birthday. For this event, Winter & Winter produced The Mauricio Kagel Edtion-a limited, numbered special release containing two CDs and one DVD featuring legendary works by Mauricio Kagel. Reinbert de Leeuw, the Schoenberg Ensemble, and the Netherlands Chamber Choir recorded the world premieres of all three works on this album in honor of the composer. The Liebeskuss was a love poem written by Quirinus Kuhlmann approximately 350 years ago. "No contemporary composer is more skilled at suggesting magical vistas and social, ethnic perspectives without any hint of mawkishness than Mauricio Kagel." - Gramophone
