Notes & Reviews:
Here's the work that originally propelled Hayden Wayne to symphonic fame several years ago, and we are proud to reintroduce this disc to new listeners. Wayne, with his experience in radio, television and on stage in music of many different styles and genres, has written a series of symphonies reflecting distinct pop influences (i.e., Symphony No. 2, Reggae; Symphony No. 3, Heavy Metal; and Symphony No. 4, Funk). Let Mr. Wayne tell us about Symphony No. 5: "We are ALL Africans. With the complete mapping of the genome, geneticists have proven, once and for all, we are one race of people. The migrations from the mother continent, and the subsequent migrations from beyond its borders, whether driven by climatic change, the search for food, or simple curiosity, are what ultimately populated the rest of the worldand yet, with all of our splendid differences, what makes us so unique it the fact that we are one. Any denial of this truth, is to fracture the seamless perfection of the whole. Those differences and that unity are what I hoped to celebrate and articulate with Africa."
