Notes & Reviews:
William Neil, organist of the National Symphony Orchestra, is well known for his performances of traditional and contemporary organ music. Prior to his appointment in 2001 as Organist of the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., he served as Organist at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel at the University of Chicago. In addition to his active concert performances, Mr. Neil has a career in the classroom, serving on the faculties of George Mason University and the Catholic University of America as an organ instructor. Many of his former students hold prominent academic and church music positions in the United States and around the world. He can be heard on the MSR label on A Festive Proclamation (MS1112) and the acclaimed release Noel- 25 Hymns of Christmas (MS1153). For Easter, Mr. Neil has now released this exceptional collection of favorite hymns, performed on the magnificent John Jay Hopkins Memorial Organ of the National Presbyterian Church in Washington.
