Notes & Reviews:

This disc, the first in a series, will prove a delight for everyone who knows and loves these pieces in their original forms. Carl Czerny was born the year Mozart died (1791) and was a prodigy who studied with Beethoven. Czerny's own best-known student was Franz Liszt. Czerny's great skill as an arranger is clearly demonstrated by reducing the orchestra to five players without losing the spirit of the work.
