Notes & Reviews:

Francesco Pollini (1762-1846), born in Ljubljana, was a student of Mozart in Vienna before transferring to Milan and studying with Zingarelli. Pollini became not only a composer, but also a pianist, violinist, singer, and actor. In 1811 he published a book on playing the fortepiano, ancestor of the modern piano, and transitioning between it and the harpsichord.
