Notes & Reviews:

The encounter - at the end of the Second World War - between the very high German conductor and the young English singer, represented for both artists a moment of crucial significance in their lives, as the several important recordings of this period testify. Besides the famous cycle "Das Lied von der Erde", we were also left two fabulous recordings in which Ferrier, under the direction of Bruno Walter (at the piano and on the podium), reaches unequalled and touching interpretative peaks. These are indeed recordings that can stand the test of time!
