Notes & Reviews:

Composed when Korngold was only 14, the four-movement Sinfonietta, portrays a phenomenal expertise both in the organization of musical ideas and in the handling of the orchestra: exquisitely orchestrated and crafted with an idiosyncrasy of harmony and rhythmic manipulation. Bamert's performances of these compelling works were well received by critics on the original release. They have now been re-mastered at 24-bit, and are welcomed onto the Classics label for the first time.

BBC Music Magazine
... his finest true orchestral masterpiece was the Sinfonietta, a symphony in all but name... completed when Korngold was still just 15. Here the combination of Bamert's supple shaping of the music, the BBC Philharmonic's opulent playing and Chandos's lustrous sound make for an experience that is both indulgent and satisfying...Bamert's performances of both works are beautiful, sensitive and sympathetic, never overstated but always fullblooded.
