Notes & Reviews:

Ferenc Fricsay (1914-1963), one of the greatest Hungarian conductors of his time, directed what is now the DSO (German Symphony Orchestra) Berlin for 13 years. This CD contains two documentary recordings from the first ten years: his unique collaboration with the famed Alfred Cortot and an interpretation of the Tchaikovsky as a gripping drama in sound.
