Notes & Reviews:

Margarethe (Marchand) Danzi (1768-1800) was the wife of the well-known composer Franz Danzi, and a fine musician herself who was discounted as a composer due to her sex. This disc features splendid performances on quality period instruments by a duo whose previous CD was received with great praise. Schlepp plays a copy of a Stein fortepiano from ca. 1785, and Lohmann performs on a Piattelini violin from 1770.
