Remarks:
World premiere recordings of the Concerto in D Major for Harpsichord, the Concerto in A Major for Violin and the Concerto in G Minor for Cello are featured on this disc of works by the Italian composer Giovanni Benedetto Platti (c.1697-1763). Although Italian by birth, he spent most of his life in Würzburg working for the Prince-archbishop in his court Kapelle. It is ironic that Platt, a professional oboist as well as composer, only wrote one concerto for that instrument.Reviews
