Avison: Concerti grossi Op. 9-10 / Beznosiuk, Avison Ensemble

Remarks:

Charles Avison (1709-1770) was without doubt one of the most important composers of concertos in 18th century Britain, as well as a pioneering writer on music and a key concert organizer in the northeast of England. Although these late concertos of Avison's were not written using the latest styles, they are exceedingly well crafted with delightful melodic lines. They reveal an accomplished composer and contain some of the most memorable music that Avison wrote.
