Remarks:
Louis Vierne was principal organist at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris from 1900 until his death, and a first-class improviser as well. His music is authoritatively performed by Kay Johannsen, the first prize winner of the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb in Bonn in 1988. Johannsen teaches organ at the music conservatories in Karlsruhe and Friburg and will direct the Bach Week of the International Bach Academy, Stuttgart in 2009.
