Schumann: Davidsbündlertänze, Arabeske, Gesänge der Frühe / Paolo Giacometti

Remarks:

All the works on this CD are linked together by the powerful personal emotions of the composer. The Davidsbundler (League of David) was an imaginary music society created by Schumann. The group was formed to defend the cause of contemporary music against its detractors. Schumann occasionally referenced the group in his music and he dedicated the Davidsbundlertanze to its members. Paolo Giacometti's impressive Channel discography has been widely acclaimed by the international press.
