The Swedish death metal outfit added to their already impressive catalogue with 2007's RISE OF THE TYRANT, another pulverizing foray into sonic mayhem. As tunes like "The Last Enemy" and the breakneck-paced opener, "Blood On Your Hands," indicate, Arch Enemy are far from selling out. The pummeling rhythms of such tracks barely give the listener time to breathe while searing riffage and snarling, seemingly inhuman vocals shred through the sheets of sound. On tunes like "The Day You Died" Arch Enemy display a sense of melody rooted in classic metal, but the ferocity of their attack throughout RISE OF THE TYRANT assures that they'll take no prisoners.
