Notes & Reviews:

La Rota is a Montreal-based quartet that has garnered acclaim for its creative presentation of medieval music, and consists of Sarah Barnes (soprano), Tobie Miller (recorder and hurdy-gurdy); Emilie Brule (vielle); and Esteban La Rotta, (lute and harp). Formed in 2002, the group has been met with praise for its rich sound, instrumental virtuosity, and mastery of medieval improvisation. Early Music America selected La Rota as the winner of its 2006 Medieval/Renaissance music competition for North American artists.
