Notes & Reviews:
David Pohle was born in Marienberg. Little is known about his life, although we know he studied with Heinrich Schutz and was Music Director and composer at various Northern German courts. None of his works were published during his lifetime, and this CD of six Sacred Concertos interspersed with several instrumental sonatas will bring this music, known mainly to insiders and specialists, to a wider listening public.
