Born in Bulgaria, Ms. Dokovska has many American connections; currently Chair of the Piano Department at Mannes College in New York, she is also artistic director of the Southwest Virginia Festival of the Arts. Highly acclaimed throughout the world, she was also a student of Beveridge Webster at Julliard. Incidentally, the conductor is the son of the famed bassist Nicolai Ghiaurov.
