KEITH R. YOUNG, a master of the saxophone
KEITH R. YOUNG was principal saxophonist with the U.S. Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. for 20 years until 1998. Since then he has been an international soloist and Professor of Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches saxophone performance and directs the IUP Jazz Band. As a saxophone soloist, Young has performed on international tours with the U.S. Air Force Band and as guest soloist with college and high school bands, as well as at the International Bandmasters and Orchestra Directors Conference, World Saxophone Congress in the U.S., Japan, Italy, and Canada, and several MENC Conferences. “Keith R. Young is truly a master of the saxophone, and an artist of the first order.” Saxophone Journal----------------This collection contains some of the best recital literature for the saxophone, featuring music of composers from the U.S.A., Japan, France, Brazil, and Argentina. “Young boasts an easy technical facility and an ability to leap into the altissimo register without second thought. Saxophone aficionados will find this a good addition to their collection.” – American Record Guide “This CD provides a full sixty minutes of superb and delightful saxophone music. Keith R. Young is most definitely a saxophonist to hear and an artist to appreciate.” – Saxophone Journal
