Notes & Reviews:

Georg Philipp Telemann wrote solo or double instrumental concertos for all the wind instruments in frequent or less frequent use during his epoch – for oboe and oboe d’amore, for transverse flute, recorder, and flauto pastorale, for trumpet and horn, and for chalumeau and bassoon. Since he himself could play all these instruments, he wrote extremely idiomatic scores flattering the instrument and spontaneously appealing to the instrumentalist: Telemann’s instrumental parts may be said to have something natural about them.
