Mendelssohn: Symphony no 1 & 5, etc / Gollej, Fauth, et al

Remarks:

When a few musicians take on the task of a whole orchestra, the composer's excellence and the arranger's fine touch are brought to light - as in the case of the splendid chamber arrangements of two symphonies and two overtures by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy for piano four hands, violin, and violoncello celebrating their recording premieres on this CD. Arrangements of orchestral works brought publishing companies welcome additional revenues. Expanding this sales strategy after the copyright privileges had expired, Mendelssohn's publishers Breitkopf & Hartel issued arrangements of his works for piano four hands, violin, and violoncello in "popular editions" intended for home performance and maintaining the high standards of the originals.
