Notes & Reviews:
Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer was born in Schonfeld, Bohemia, and spent his youth in Schlackenwerth, where he received his basic and musical education. He was employed as Music Director at the Court of the Margrave of Baden in Rastatt from 1715 until his death. His most significant orchestral work was a collection of eight suites entitled 'Le Journal de Printemps', pieces which radiate the graceful, elegant sound of French Orchestral Music. This important release of his sacred music is made up entirely of first recordings.
