Notes & Reviews:
Twenty years ago Robert Ian Winstin was approached by stage director David Perkins to provide incidental music to an elaborate four-and-a-half hour production of this classical legend. Over time, Winstin felt he was composing more than an "underscore" and produced the rough sketches of this Requiem that would be incorporated into the massive production. Even a simple "original cast recording" was made, but the work - as heard in this new recording - was left idle for years in a drawer. Throughout all of his endeavors, such as composing new scores, promoting the music of his contemporaries through the ERM Media project, etc., his mind kept coming back to this work. Now this dynamic, unusual music can be heard in all its glory.
