Notes & Reviews:

This CD is dedicated to the young Fritz Wunderlich's earliest commercial recordings. We hear a young, twenty-five-year-old singer who is getting ready to win the hearts of his audience and conquer the opera houses of the world. His voice scintillates like a fiery precious stone and is an impressive document of the high expectations the music world had of him even then. Everything was over only ten years later. The German opera world has still not recovered from the tragic consequences of his accident on the stairs on September 17, 1966.
