The German violinist Christian Tetzaff has recorded extensively for Virgin Classics both in its early days and more recently as a guest artist. His most recent recording for the label of Bartok's violin sonatas with Leif Ove Andsnes proved a worldwide success for its genre. This recording of both Brahms' and Joachim's music for violin and orchestra, with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra under its principal guest conductor Thomas Dausgaard, renews Tetzaff's collaboration with the world-class orchestra.
