Benjammin Coelho is one of the most recognized and active musicians throughout the world, as a soloist and orchestral player and member of the Wizards! wind ensemble. He writes "All bassoonists must confront the fact that the bassoon literature is limited and does not include many works by the great masters. As a probing musician, I am therefore always interested in expanding the bassoon repertoire, and in response, have commissioned many new works... Like many musicians throughout history who have transcribed works for instruments of their own, I have chosen to create my own transcriptions of the great works featured on this disc."
