Notes & Reviews:
Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Igor Lesnik is now one of Europe's leading percussionists. This disc was completed exactly 20 years after his first recordings were released in Europe, and the solo pieces at the end are revisions of works composed back then, too; hence, the commemorative title of this album. Since 1984 Lesnik has been the leader of the percussion section of the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony, and since 1990 has been a prominent leader in organizing percussion concerts, master-classes and seminars throughout Europe. With its mixture of contemporary and earlier works, this CD is not only a tribute to a unique performer but is also a truly ear-opening experience!
