Notes & Reviews:

CPO's Heinrich von Herzogenberg edition continues to expand, slowly but surely, and with it a highly sympathetic composer comes into view and takes his place - now confidently, now somewhat despairingly - beside his friend Johannes Brahms. During his youth Herzogenberg belonged to the Wagnerian camp, but beginning in his thirties the "conservative" Brahms was his clear idol. His most enduring compositional contributions are to be found in his chamber oeuvre, and after the dazzling new recording of his piano trios by the Atos Trio, we are now presenting his two wind chamber works in brand-new productions.

Impeccable craftsmanship and a good ear for melody are the hallmarks of a quality composer
