This recording of music for percussion and strings features Tan Dun's Elegy recorded in Neural Surround and will appeal to all audiophiles. Dun's music spans the boundaries of classical, multimedia, Eastern and Western musical systems. Born in China, the New-York based Dun draws on his Chinese heritage as inspiration. Harrison's Concerto (creatively dated by him as 1959-1940) reflects the composer's diverse musical interests, including a kind of "imaginary gamelan" from a percussion orchestra.
