Album Reviews:

Alternative Press (p.150) - "[T]he EP's most beautiful moment by far is an Ida original, a haunting, late-night meditation called 'Don't Wreck It.'"

Album Notes

Less than nine months after its well-received 2008 record, LOVERS PRAYERS, the New York City-based indie-pop act Ida unveils a companion EP, MY FAIR, MY DARK. Fellow Empire State resident Levon Helm (the Band) drops by to contribute a little drum and mandolin playing, while fellow old-timer Michael Hurley sits in on fiddle, giving the mini-album an air of gravitas sometimes lacking on Ida's typically breezy, spare recordings. Highlights of the seven-song set include "The Pain of Loving You," a chiming Dolly Parton cover, and the serene original "Still Life," both of which showcase the ensemble's warm vocal harmonies and acoustic arrangements.
