Notes & Reviews:

This recording comes from a live performance recorded off the air from the Royal Albert Hall, London, June 19, 1943. Even though it would appear that not all of the items that were played and broadcast have survived, we can appreciate through this recording more than a glimpse, through sound alone, of the occasion, as well as the high standard of performance then consistently achieved by Wood in war-time Britain.
