Pavel Kogan with the Moscow State Orchestra is setting new exciting standards for a Russian orchestra on tour. Kogan, son of celebrated Russian artists Leonid Kogan and Elisaveta Gilels, began his musical studies at Moscow's Central Music School and the Moscow Conservatory. In 1970, at 18, he won First Prize and Gold Medal at the Sibelius International Violin Competition in Helsinki.
