Album Summary
Marx, Joseph : Eine Fruhlingsmusik, for orchestra
Marx, Joseph : Idyll
Marx, Joseph : Feste im Herbst, for orchestraNotes & Reviews:
Joseph Marx was and is a unique one-man occurrence in Austrian music history. He was a composer of lavishly, sumptuously, and opulently set orchestral music as well as of tender piano songs with an impressionistic touch. Nature and its seasonal cycle were his greatest source of inspiration throughout his life. His titles - 'Autumn Chorus to Pan', 'Autumn Symphony', 'A Spring Music', 'Idyll', 'Feasts in Autumn' (which receives its world premiere recording here) - make this very clear.
