Remarks:

In her most personal album to date, acclaimed recitalist and opera singer Magdalena Kozena offers a collection of songs she has known since childhood and that formed some of her earliest musical influences. The CD title, though also the title of a song, means much more to Kozena. These are indeed the songs her mother taught her as a child in keeping the traditions of Czech and Moravian folk poetry and song alive. The recital features a haunting collection of songs by Dvorak, Janacek, Martinu, Schulhoff, Eben and others. Kozena is joined by her long-time recital partner Malcolm Martineau and soprano Dorothea Roschmann (who joins for Dvorak's "Moravian" duets).
