After completing his musical studies at the Cologne Conservatory, Swiss-born composer Fritz Brun settled in Berlin until 1903 when he returned to Switzerland. He made his living as a piano teacher and conductor until 1941 when he determined to devote all his time to composing. He wrote 10 symphonies - large-scale and demanding works that are almost autobiographical.
