Notes & Reviews:
The Monumental Brass Quintet is a prizewinning ensemble of the International Brass Quintet Festival, the Rafael Mendez Competition, and the Baltimore Chamber Music Competition. The MBQ brings its own brand of spirited virtuosity to concert halls across America, and has made numerous radio and television broadcasts. From the works of Vivaldi to Bernstein's historic 'Mass' and John Harmon's "The Sacred Circle" (composed specifically for the MBQ), this recording's diversity is held together by the group's remarkable synergistic energy. Soaring melodies and complex harmonies, together with distinctive texture and brilliant color, are blended in precise balance for powerful performances.
