Notes & Reviews:

Julius Rontgen's 'Symphony No. 18' ranks not only among the longest and most classical of his some twenty symphonies but it also ranks among his most multifaceted. It is written in the traditional four movements, and festive baroque reminiscences with the pomp of timpani and trumpets a la Bach are heard together with finely elaborated melodies in the best Mendelssohnian tradition.

International Record Review
David Porcelijn secures some excellent playing from the NDR Radiophilharmonie, and the recording is absolutely top-notch.
