Schwetzinger Festspielreihe - Gidon Kremer plays Schubert, Prokofiev, Beethoven, Kreisler, Webern

Remarks:

This release contains brilliant interpretations of Beethoven and Schubert in addition to a stunning reading of Prokofiev's 'Violin Sonata No. 1'. Kremer is well versed in the classical music literature of Central Europe, as he amply demonstrates in these performances from the 1977 Schwetzinger Festival. Longtime Kremer colleague and collaborator, Oleg Maisenberg, provides piano accompaniment. The original source tapes were used for the digital transfer.
