Notes & Reviews:
By the beginning of the 19th century, books providing a specific chant for each of the 150 psalms appeared and in 1837 the first system was published. At Lincoln Cathedral, chant books were produced by the cathedral's organists; another by Colin Walsh and all these have culminated in the Lincoln Psalter of 2006, from which the selections on this recording are taken.
